Description
Cement resistors are encapsulated with cement (actually not cement but refractory clay, commonly known as such), where the resistor wire is wound around a non-alcaline heat-resistant ceramic piece, protected and secured with heat-resistant, moisture-resistant, and corrosion-resistant materials, and the wound resistor body is placed in a square ceramic frame filled with special non-flammable heat-resistant cement for sealing. Cement resistors are divided into two types: ordinary cement resistors and cement wirewound resistors. Cement resistors are a type of wirewound resistor that belongs to a larger power resistor category and can allow a larger current to pass through. Their function is the same as general resistors, but they can be used in situations with high current, such as being connected in series with an electric motor to limit the motor's starting current, and their resistance is generally not large. Cement resistors have the characteristics of small size, shock resistance, moisture resistance, heat resistance, and good heat dissipation at low cost. They are widely used in power adapters, audio equipment, audio crossovers, instruments, meters, televisions, and automotive devices.
